SEPP N-1 has the force of Law in metropolitan Melbourne and covers noise emissions from Commercial, Industry or Trade premises onto noise sensitive receivers.
NIRV aims to provide a balance between industry feasibility and community health in regional Victoria and provides recommended noise levels for industry to achieve at noise sensitive receivers.
SEPP N-2 has the force of Law in Victoria and covers noise emissions from venues (Both indoor and outdoor) producing music at high levels. Examples include pubs, clubs, bars, music venues and gyms.
The NPFI aims to ensure that noise is kept to acceptable levels in balance with the social and economic value of Industry in NSW.
The ORLG manages noise from licenced premises such as pubs, clubs, bars and music venues.
The regulations apply to noise generated from a place in the ACT that causes environmental harm in an affected place and helps form the ACT Environmental Protection Policies (EPP). Each of the three EPPs covers a different area of environmental noise emissions, they are:
The QLD Noise EPP governs noise emissions from industry by ensuring noise sensitive receivers aren’t exposed to noise levels above specified noise limits.
The Liquor Regulations specify noise limits for licenced venues with regard to music, patron and mechanical services noise emissions.
The SA Noise EPP sets out procedures for assessing noise from industry and sets noise goals for industry to achieve at noise sensitive locations.
EPA Guideline 279 applies to music from indoor venues while EPA Guideline 888 applies to outdoor events.
The TAS Noise EPP covers noise emissions from Commercial, Industry or Trade premises onto noise sensitive receivers.
The WA Noise EPR assessed noise from Industry and incorporates assigned levels to noise sensitive receivers than adjusts it with an influencing factor to arrive at noise limits for industry.
No official environmental noise assessment guidance is provided in the Northern Territory, therefore guidance is sought via other state documents such as the NSW Industrial Noise Policy for example.
