JTA are experts in asbestos identification, assessment and management. We can help you navigate this highly regulated area at national and state level. By inspecting the site, collecting samples, using an independent NATA-accredited laboratory to analyse the samples, and developing a risk assessment report for asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), we provide comprehensive asbestos audits.
Australian Asbestos Assessments
As asbestos was frequently used in buildings throughout Australia, legislation has been introduced that all workplaces (in all states) must have an asbestos audit completed and have a register readily available upon request. Most states also specify that buildings constructed before December 31st 2003, in particular, must comply with this legislation.
Asbestos requirements include:
- Any person who carries out a workplace inspection must be competent to do so - noting that JTA have experienced & qualified assessors ready to help you for an asbestos audit in Melbourne and around Australia.
- If asbestos is identified in a workplace, management must ensure that a written plan (asbestos management plan) is prepared for the workplace. JTA can assist with an asbestos audit in Brisbane and around Australia.
- Once identified, ACMs must be labelled and where practical have their location identified too. JTA are capable of conducting an asbestos audit in Sydney and around Australia.
