About us

JTA Health, Safety & Noise Specialists (JTA) was established in 1988 under the name of Jeremy Trotman and Associates when Jeremy left the Australian Chamber of Manufacturers (ACM) to commence private practice. Starting with two consultants and support staff, the focus was on the objective assessment of risks and the development of practical solutions. This focus was sharpened with the challenge of developing services for the small business sector which comprised 85 percent of ACM members.

Training

When it comes to health, safety and noise training one size certainly doesn’t fit all. Each workplace has its own unique set of characteristics and risk profile and thus requires a training program designed to meet its specific requirements.

Vibration Testing

As a leading provider of noise related services JTA works with planners, developers, builders, property managers and owners to help you determine exactly what your regulatory requirements are in relation to vibration levels. Once the root-cause of a problem is identified (structural or acoustic resonance, imbalance, misalignment, poor design of isolation etc.), we develop targeted measures tailored to minimise or eliminate risk, ensure legislative requirements are met, reduce downtime, and improve productivity and reliability.

Vibration Monitoring

Excessive vibration, and the associated noise, can put residents and workers wellbeing and health at risk. Environmental noise and vibration can be caused by a variety of sources including industrial, construction and transport. Measurement of this type of vibration can be difficult and complex but is often required before you can obtain a permit or approval for construction.

Noise Modelling

As specialists in Noise Modelling, JTA can assist with planning, licence and permit conditions for solving industrial, construction and traffic noise issues. Utilising our SoundPLAN noise modelling software, our qualified and experienced Acoustic Consultants will help you navigate any requirements from the EPA, Council or Legislation to ensure you are compliant.

Occupational Noise Assessments

Employers and PCBUs have a duty to protect workers from noise-induced hearing loss. To effectively manage and reduce the risks associated with exposure to hazardous noise, and meet compliance requirements, you need to identify unsafe noise, put in place the appropriate controls and monitor them on a regular basis.

Environmental Noise Assessments

Environmental noise is unwanted or harmful outdoor sound. It usually relates to noise created by road, rail and airport traffic, industry, construction, and equipment. Scientific studies have proven that widespread exposure to environmental noise has an impact on health, wellbeing and productivity.

Building Acoustics

JTA has experienced and highly qualified Acoustic Consultants equipped with the appropriate calibrated technologies to correctly predict, diagnose and solve your noise problems. Building and room acoustics are an important consideration in the design, operation and construction of buildings. They address the minimisation of sound transmitted through walls, doors and floors as well as the behaviour of sound inside a room.

Aircraft Noise Reports

JTA is a recognised specialist in the area of noise and acoustics. Aircraft noise reports are a requirement for new builds as well as for renovated houses and units constructed near airports. Often a condition of building approval from Council, an Aircraft Noise Intrusion Assessment will determine if the proposed construction will meet the requirements of Australian Standard AS2021:2015  Acoustics – Aircraft Noise Intrusion – Building Siting and Construction.

Workplace Health Checks

JTA has been helping businesses improve their employees’ health and productivity for more than 35 years. Our on-site Workplace Health Checks are carried out by JTA’s experienced, accredited and qualified nurses. We help you to identify health risks early and improve the health of both your employees and the organisation.
